WHY WE’re HERE

Unveiling Our
Purpose-Driven Vision

Liver Awareness Foundation (LAF) is dedicated to educating and alerting young adults about lifestyle-related liver conditions, with a focus on alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). Our mission promotes liver health education, raises awareness, and advocates for early detection while supporting those affected by ALD. We are committed to challenging the stigma surrounding liver disease and advancing research to improve understanding and treatment options. By empowering young people to make informed lifestyle choices, we aim to reduce the prevalence of lifestyle-related liver disease and prevent deaths from alcohol-associated liver failure.

Our purpose is to empower young adults with essential knowledge about liver health and the lifestyle habits that can lead to liver conditions, including alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). We provide support, resources, and guidance to those affected by ALD, and offer a supportive space for individuals facing alcohol use disorder, which often leads to liver disease. We work to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health challenges that contribute to harmful drinking habits and unhealthy lifestyles, encouraging mindful lifestyle choices, early detection, and informed, positive decisions.

Our vision is a society where young people are informed, proactive, and mindful of liver health, reducing the stigma associated with liver problems and empowering a world free of liver disease.
